IOWA FERTILIZER COMPANY EMPLOYEES DONATE $10K TO LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES
Two local food pantries received around $10K in donations from the Iowa Fertilizer Company and its employees.
The money will be split between St. Vincent De Paul food pantry in Burlington, and the Lee County Food Pantry in Fort Madison. Employees raised around $5K through a silent auction fundraiser, that amount was then matched by the company.
Around 50 vendors donated items for the auction.
Iowa Fertilizer Company’s multi-billion dollar plant in Wever is said to be a leader in the fertilizer industry, and according to the company is “the first greenfield nitrogen fertilizer facility constructed in the United States in more than 25 years.”
